I’m often asked, how did I get into photographing bald eagles.


In some respect, I have Covid to thank? blame? for introducing me to bald eagles.


Prior to Covid, I was doing most of my photography in New York City. I spent a lot of time photographing the the classic New York City landmark but trying to present them in a unique composition.


Then Covid comes along and New York City became off limits. As the world slowly reopened in the Spring of 2000, one of the first places to reopen were parks. I wanted to get out and take pictures and found myself in local parks taking photos of flowers.


Well one day, I’m at a local park standing on a dock that was along side the pond. It’s late in the afternoon overcast and pretty dark. At the far end of the pond, maybe half mile away, I can see these two dark spots in the trees. I couldn’t make out what they were but I snapped a few photos anyways.
I got the idea that I might enjoy getting into bird photography. I bought my first big telephoto lens and set out to begin taking pictures of birds. Initially, I thought that I’d be taking pictures of cardinals, bluejays and perhaps ducks.

Featured in several Digital & Print Media outlets. Have had photos hang in a number of gallery shows including the Philadelphia Flower Show and in a Photography show in Grand Central Station. Featured on the cover of Photoshop User Magazine May 2023. Selected for an Award of Excellence by New Jersey Monthly magazine - December 2023.
